MSE-77 · Partners, prospective partners and the partnerships team

Partner portal guide

Getting in, registering referrals, tracking deals, co-selling, reading commission statements, finding approved resources, getting support and keeping customer information safe.

Pre-release. No partner agreement has been signed, no commission has been calculated or paid, and the platform is not live. Commission rates, attribution windows, settlement cycles and payout terms are not set. This guide is not an offer or a contract; a partnership exists only under a signed agreement.

PPO-D-01. Four partner roles; each person has their own sign-in; a partner organisation always has at least one partner administrator, and payout details can be changed only by a finance user or partner administrator with stronger verification.

4. Registering referrals

Every lead is marked from the start as founder-owned, partner-owned or shared. Commission is paid on the attribution recorded on the order when the customer buys, never on a later claim.

A good registration includes the organisation and contact person, how you know them, what they need, the offer you think fits, their market and confirmation that they have agreed to be introduced.

RuleIntroduce only people who have agreed. Pass on the minimum contact details needed, and record where the lead came from.
A registered referral
  1. Step 1: Registered
  2. Step 2: Checked against existing records
  3. Step 3: Ownership confirmed
  4. Step 4: Lead contacted
  5. Step 5: Deal tracked

If the person is already in the ecosystem's records, ownership follows the existing record unless the agreements say otherwise, and you are told why. A registration counts for an attribution window [to be set in MSE-23 and MSE-116]. Where you earn from a purchase, the relationship is disclosed to the buyer.

PPO-D-02. A partner registration is confirmed, declined or marked as already known within one working day of being received, and the partner is told the outcome and the reason.

5. Tracking deals and co-selling

Deals move through captured, contacted, qualified, consultation held, proposal sent, accepted and contracted, or end as nurturing, disqualified or lost, always with a reason. When a deal is contracted, a commission entry is created in the pending state.

Co-selling is planned for resellers at a later release. Before a reseller sells, its agreement states who is legally the seller, because that decides the customer's rights, tax collection and payment licensing. Prices come from the reseller price list; commission never changes the price the customer pays.

PPO-D-03. In every shared deal, the lead, the seller of record, the price list and the division of commission or margin are recorded before the first joint meeting with the customer.

6. Commissions and statements

Commission is calculated on the net value of a sale after refunds and before taxes. The rule in force when a sale is made is frozen into that sale. No rate is set in this guide.

A commission entry
  1. Step 1: Pending
  2. Step 2: Eligible
  3. Step 3: Approved
  4. Step 4: Scheduled
  5. Step 5: Paid

An entry stays pending until the longest refund or withdrawal right has passed. Only Finance approves an entry, and the person who creates a payout never approves it. A refund after payout creates a reversal set against your next settlement; a paid entry is never edited.

Payouts are made only to verified bank details in your organisation's name, through licensed payment channels. The settlement cycle, minimum payout and any hold are [to be set in MSE-23 and MSE-116].

PPO-D-04. A partner's question about a statement is answered in writing with the ledger lines it concerns. If a statement cannot answer a question partners reasonably ask, the format is changed for every partner.

7. Resources, support and conduct

Describe the ecosystem only in approved terms, describe as available only what is live in that market, and never claim a figure, certification, award or partnership not confirmed in writing. Co-branded material needs both sides' approval before use.

Raise questions with the partnerships team through the contact page. Use customer information only for the partnership. No partner offers or accepts a payment, gift or favour to win business, and any personal interest in a deal is declared.

8. Suspension and ending

While suspended, a partner can read its statements and agreement but cannot register referrals or use resources. Commission earned before the end is paid under the agreement, and no customer is left without service.

PPO-D-05. When a partnership is suspended or ended, portal access is reduced the same day to statements, the agreement and commission still due, and the partner is told in writing what it can still see and for how long.
